Mercator, 19th C Reproduction
This isn't an original version of Mercator's 1619 map. but is a probable 19th century reproduction. It is a very good reproduction, is nicely hand coloured and would look great on the wall. I've put it in new a blue mount to set off the colours. Overall dimensions (including mount) 30cm x 25.5cm.
Gweirydd ap Rhys, 1872
This map comes from the book Hanes y Brytaniaid a'r Cymry (History of the Britons and the Welsh), by Robert John Pryse (also known as Gweirydd ap Rhys), published by William Mackenzie. The basic map is that done by R. Creighton for A Topographical Dictionary of Wales, but has had the new railways overlaid on it (although somewhat inaccurately!). Overall dimensions (including mount) 35.5cm x 28cm.
Bowen (1720), photographic reproduction
This is a modern photographic reproduction of a map, engraved by Emanuel Bowen and published in 1720 in John Owen's Britannia Depicta or Ogilby Improved. This was a road atlas of England and Wales produced at pocket-size to be convenient to carry for travellers. You can read more about this map here.
This is just the print, with no mount, and shipped rolled in a cardboard tube. Overall dimensions 25.4cm x 38.1cm.
